1. NEW THIS MONTH! GCSE Music - practical performing editions
July 2010 - GCSE music, practical performing editions. The current Edexcel GCSE music examination syllabus contains a wide range of music for study and analysis, but until now there have been no practical performing editions available of these titles for use in schools.

We are delighted, therefore, to publish ensemble editions of the three syllabus works from the Classical period. All three titles are supplied complete with score and parts, with instrumental alternatives (e.g. violin III instead of viola) included as well.

These new editions will provide an ideal way to give GCSE students valuable first hand experience of the music from the performers' point of view, and will enable music teachers to mount performances without the expense and effort of gathering full orchestras and/or choirs.

2. String Quartets A - L
Our ever growing catalogue of string quartet arrangements contains a large range of titles from Baroque and Classical to Romantic and even Modern.

4. String Trios
A unique range of titles for string trio is proving very popular with a growing number of ensembles.

Many of these titles are, we believe, available in string trio format on the web for the first time, and we are constantly adding new titles to the trio section of the catalogue. Please contact us if you cannot see the title you require.

Please note also that many of these titles are also available as an alternative scoring for a trio of two violins and cello - again, please contact us before ordering for further information about these or any other titles.

5. Ragtime arrangements for string quaret by Nicolas Cherniavsky
Ragtime music is almost universal in its appeal, and the master of the idiom was, of course, Scott Joplin. Nicolas Cherniavsky has arranged many of Joplin's rags for string quartet, including some of the lesser know titles, and
we are now delighted to be able to include these in the jasminmusic catalogue.

6. String Quartet Plus!®
Young string players love to play string quartet music, and although violinists and cellists exist in abundance in most schools and junior music departments, viola players are less common.
To help counter this problem we have produced a new series of string quartet titles based on some of the most popular titles from our successful string quartet series.
String Quartet Plus! is the result. Every title in the series is supplied with an additional violin "3" part to either replace or supplement the existing viola part. Each title can thus be performed in three different versions:

• in standard string quartet format

• as a quartet for 3 violins and cello

• as a string quintet for 3 violins, viola and cello

Each title in the series is supplied with a set of bound parts and also a bound full score. MP3 audio CDs for each title are also available separately - please contact us for further details for this option.

Already in use in schools in London and the South East, we are confident that String Quartet Plus! will be the ideal choice for your young talented ensembles, and many further titles will be added in due course, as well as links to online score/audio samples.

8. Larger Ensembles
Over the coming months we will be issuing a number of works for larger ensembles, and the first of these, Mussorgsky's famous "Pictures from and Exhibition" arranged for string sextet is now available. Go to the catalogue page and then click on the link to hear and see a short sample of the score.

The 2009 jasminmusic Haydn Tribute Collection
Throughout 2009 we were pleased to issue a new collection of string chamber music arrangements to celebrate the Haydn centenary year. Comprising 6 Divertimenti each for string trio an string quartet, plus three "London" string trios and quartets as well as other popular works, this collection represents a valuable addition to the chamber music literature.
